Filipino Food Month – April 2024
April 2024 – For the first time in Lithuania, Merienda – Filipiniečių Užkandžiai/ Filipino snacks (Vilnius), Mojo Cafe (Trakai) and Master’s Kimchi (Kaunas) have collaborated to actively promote Filipino food in Lithuania, through the celebration of the Filipino Food Month (FFM).
Filipino food month or FFM is a month-long celebration held annually in Philippines and in many countries around the globe with Filipino food enthusiasts and restaurant owners, for the preservation and appreciation of Filipino food and culinary heritage.
Because Philippine cuisine is more than just food – it represents the cultural pride and identity of the Filipino people!
The theme this year is “Filipino Food, Strength for the Modern Youth” (“Kalutong Filipino, Lakas ng Kabataang Makabago”), which aims to showcase Filipino food being healthy and nutritious especially for the younger generation.
To celebrate FFM in Lithuania, we were encouraging Filipinos, Lithuanians, and other foreign nationalities in Lithuanians to order and try out some Filipino dishes. Each has their own unique take on Filipino dishes and a variety of food items available.
Some trivia and fun facts, and most of all, activities related to this celebration, had been announced to corresponding Facebook Instagram and TikTok pages (if available).
More information about related activities are detailed in next posts, as well as in Facebook and Instagram posts and reels.
Long live the Philippine cuisine!
Mabuhay ang Kalutong Filipino!
Tegyvuoja Filipinų virtuvė!
