Invitation to Celebrate 126th Philippine Independence Day in Warsaw, Poland

June 12, 2024 – I was so excited to travel to Warsaw, Poland by myself to attend the 126th Philippine Indepedence Day Celebration held at the Narodowa Filharmonija at Warsaw, Poland. I was honored to be invited by Her Excellency Ambassador Leah Ruiz, to represent the Filipino community in Lithuania.

Since it was a formal gathering, I was wearing my Filipiniana clothes and Philippine pearls for accessories, which gave me pride as a true and patriotic Filipino living abroad.

To match my outfit, I bought a Philippine handmade bag from Native Luxurious, owned by Ms. Rofa Lim at Cafe de Pinoy, Kaunas. Lithuania

This bag is truly unique as it was painted by a Lithuanian artist, Kristina Kapliauskaite.

The design of the bag embodies the connection between the Philippines and Lithuania, which I was representing during this gathering.

I had an amazing time during this celebration. In addition to meeting plenty of Filipinos who are working at the Philippine Embassy Warsaw, Poland, I have also met Filipinos who were invited by the Ambassador, those with significant contributions to the Filipino community in Poland. I have also met a new friend who happens to be working at IOM Poland. She was a significant person to give credit to, as she patiently works with Filipinos who need repatriation back to the Philippines from Ukraine.

Best of all, I have again met Ambassador Leah Ruiz and the Cultural Officer, Ms. Chloe Silverio.

This celebration is not only for the Philippine Independence Day but also to celebrate the 50 years of friendship between Poland and the Philippines. For this reason, the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, invited the Bayanihan National Dance Company of the Philippines to showcase a variety of Philippine cultural dances.
