Merienda specifically participated during the presentation of food from different migrants living in Lithuania, which lasted for 4 hours (compared to 2 hours in 2023), from 13:00 to 17:00. Several items from Merienda menu list was showcased during this event, including the Sansrival, Ube/Strawberry “Love of Baguio” Cake, assorted cupcakes and lengua de gato cookies, steamed cake with cheese filling (puto cream cheese), ube and pandan puto (steamed cakes), Filipino hot chocolate (Tableya) and an assortment of Filipino artisan chocolates.

In addition to this wide array of homemade products from Merienda, homemade kimchi made by Luthania Bolkovski was included as well. She is a talented Filipino artist, who is very good in calligraphy, including the Philippine pre-colonial alphabet, “Baybayin”. Visitors were happy to receive not only tasty treats, but some tote bags and pouches with customized Baybayin words. Video in this link: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1377844219843808

In addition to food and giveaways, introducing the Filipino culture to Lithuanians and other foreign nationalities include karaoke and games. Participants were encouraged to sing some songs and participate in games such as easy quizzes, tongue twisters and Filipino history trivia. Everyone got prices for participating – pens and badges with Merienda logo and website.

We had a great time during this event and we were happy to meet plenty of familiar and new faces. Hoping for more events such as these in the future!
